Here’s the site update for April!
What’s New
What’s Ahead
As you know the forum (http://usingwindows.ej.am/forum) and the wiki (http://usingwindows.ej.am/wiki) are very new. But, did you know that they have content?
Forum
The forum has topics already. All that are needed is some posts. People like you! There is a shop where you can purchase items and an arcade where you can play your favorite games.
Wiki
The wiki has a couple of starter articles. It has information such as how to edit pages and how to use the wiki. Note that the help pages were copied (legally) from MediaWiki’s pages, and they use MediaWiki references. I did not write them by hand. Yeah, that’s what I meant.
Sonikk on ddboard.com has made a wonderful logo for my site. To see it, visit my site at usingwindows.ej.am .
If you haven’t seen in my last post the new link to the “Using Windows” Site is http://usingwindows.ej.am. Here is some more information:
The previous site at Awardspace will be closing soon, so please go to the new site. Thanks.
The new website is http://usingwindows.ej.am. It is so cool! Please go there. This is the last transition. You can expect more of the “Using Windows” site in the future.
If you haven’t heard by now, firmware update 1.60 for the PS3 has been released! I think this is the exciting March firmware update everyone was looking for. It introduces background downloading, the Folding@Home project, WMA playback, improved connectivity with PSP, full keyboard, and more! My two favorites are background downloading and the Folding@Home project. There’s nothing like helping out your community! Hopefully, this update and future ones will continue to help the Playstation 3, since it had a rough start.
You might of heard it by now, but Google may be planning to make a cell phone using Google’s Talk feature. These are just rumors, but if Google does really unveil the phone, will it be a competitor to major cell phone companies, and the iPhone?
A workaround in Vista can postpone activation for a year. Microsoft says that this is a “hack.” It allows modifying the registry, so use caution. I am not responsible for any trouble this registry hack will cause. Use at your own risk!
To see the instructions for the hack, visit Brian Livingston’s newsletter at: http://windowssecrets.com/comp/070315/. Good luck!
